We have chosen to remain a private club even though the law in North Carolina has changed. It's a decision we made for the safety of our patrons and everyone who works here. We want to know exactly who is coming into the bar.

From our very beginning, O.Henry's and The Underground have been safe gathering places for LGBTQIA people. We intend to remain a safe space and we welcome people of all orientations and identities to build community.

 

So please make sure you have your ID with you (you gotta have that anyway to show you are 21 or over) and we'll check you at the door or at the bar. Then you can get a membership for the year for $5 and your official O. Henry's Gay Card.

 

OK maybe there is no "official" Gay Card.

Anyone over 21 with a valid ID can be a member. Your $5 membership is valid immediately and good for the entire year.
